Business Advisory Group. Director Hayward, Mr. Ash, and Mr. Cannata will talk about the various funding programs that Commerce RI runs, as well as its technical assistance and grants programs.

Bill Ash, Managing Director of Financial Services
Bill oversees the Rhode Island Industrial Facilities Corporation bond issuance (RIIFC), Rhode Island Industrial Recreation-Building Authority mortgage insurance (IRBA), Renewable Energy Fund (REF), State Small Business Credit Initiative (SSBCI), and the Small
Business Loan Fund (SBLF) programs. Bill manages the administration, business, and policy decisions of the various financial services programs to assure compliance with board actions and policies.

Christopher Cannata, Director Business Advisory Group
During his ten-year tenure at the corporation, Christopher has held various positions in business development and financial services. In his current role in the Business Advisory Group, Christopher works directly with Rhode Island businesses to deliver programs
and services to encourage their growth and expansion. As part of this, Christopher provides assistance ranging from business plan development and access to capital, to regulatory issues and workforce development, and identification of applicable state and
federal tax credits. In addition, Christopher also serves as the corporation’s salesforce administrator.

A Virtual Matchmaking Event with GSA Primes for Women-Owned Small Businesses (WOSBs)

During this event, WOSB firms will be connected with GSA large business primes and federal agencies during 20-minute roundtable matchmaking sessions.

SBA Announces Funding Opportunity for
Eligible Organizations to Provide Boots to Business Training Overseas
The SBA announced that eligible non-profit organizations, state, local, and tribal government agencies, and institutions of higher learning may now submit their proposals to host Boots
to Business (B2B) courses at military installations outside the continental United States. The awarded organizations will provide B2B training to transitioning service members and military spouses at overseas military installations. Proposals
must be submitted to grants.gov by 11:59
p.m. Eastern Standard Time on March 28, 2022.
