SBA Celebrates Women’s History Month and Offers Virtual Government Contracting & Certification Programs
The SBA can help you open more doors to federal contracting through federal certification programs. The federal government works to make sure small businesses get at least 23 percent of all federal contracting dollars. Additionally, a certain percentage of
all federal prime contracting dollars are awarded to small businesses meeting certain socio-economic conditions. The federal government has special programs to help businesses owned by women and
minorities compete in the federal market.

Doing Business with the Federal Government
Landing a federal government contract can offer numerous benefits for companies and can be a catalyst for growth for small businesses. Federal government contracts can range in value from a few thousand to billions of dollars, so the contractors that bid on
them range in size from small businesses to major corporations. While bidding on federal government contracts can be a difficult process, many federal government agencies have contracts reserved for small, women-owned, and minority owned businesses.
