SBA Announces Call for Nominations for 2022 National Small Business Week Awards

Nominations are now being accepted for the 2022 National Small Business Week (NSBW) Awards. The NSBW Awards recognize the achievements of SBA-assisted small businesses and the contributions they have made to their communities and our nation’s economy.

All nominations should be submitted electronically by 3 pm EST on January 11, 2022. The awards will be presented during the NSBW Awards ceremony in the first week of May 2022.

SBA COVID EIDL Program Remains Available to Businesses & Non-Profits:

Notice: Program Deadline is Approaching

In response to the continuation of COVID-19, small business owners and non-profit organizations can still apply for the COVID-19 Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL) for shortfalls in working capital. This 30-year term loan at a favorable interest rate (3.75% fixed for businesses and 2.75% fixed for nonprofits) has no pre-payment penalty or fees.  There is also an 18-month moratorium on payments of principal and interest; interest does accrue during that period.

Meet the Ohio PTAC Team

Wednesday, December 15: 10:00am–12:00pm ET Online

The SBA Columbus District Office and the Ohio Procurement Technical Assistance Network partner to provide small businesses the best possible technical assistance in government contracting. Doing business with the government can be confusing and time consuming. The Ohio PTAC Network is available to businesses free of charge regardless of their level of experience in government contracting. This training is an introduction to the Ohio PTAC Network. Meet PTAC Counselors from all over the state and learn about the specialized services they provide. Please register for the event by December 13, 2021 at COB. The Webinar link will be sent out to all registered attendees the evening of December 14, 2021.

SBA Mentor Protege Program

Doing business with the federal government can be challenging for any business. The average turnaround time for a first federal contract is 9-13 months. Your small business can learn from an experienced government contractor through the SBA Mentor Protege Program. This Webinar training focuses on the SBA Mentor Protege Program regulations and eligibility requirements. Ohio SBDC at Columbus State Community College: Small Business Tax Workshop

From the Ohio SBDC at Columbus State Community College: Existing or prospective small business owners or the self-employed person can learn about their federal and state tax rights, requirements and responsibilities by attending the Ohio SBDC Small Business Tax Workshop. The workshop is designed to provide a general overview of business taxes. Participants receive the instruction necessary for compliance to and with federal and state business tax requirements.
