COVID Economic Injury Disaster Loans
The deadline to apply for a COVID Economic Injury Disaster Loan is Dec. 31, 2021, at 8:59 PM PST.
No COVID EIDL applications will be accepted after then, so applications should be submitted as soon as possible. Those approved have the option to decline the loan or pre-pay it at any time with no penalty. Those declined may request a reconsideration.
Along with low fixed interest rates of 3.75% for businesses and 2.75% for nonprofits the COVID EIDL is an attractive option for those still challenged by the pandemic’s economic disruptions.
Four key things to know about the upcoming COVID EIDL deadline:
-
The COVID EIDL and Targeted EIDL Advance application deadline 11:59 PM ET on December 31, 2021; no new applications will be accepted after then, but the SBA will continue to process them.
-
It’s strongly encouraged that those eligible to submit Supplemental Targeted Advance applications ASAP, as the last day they can be funded is Dec. 31.
-
COVID EIDL borrowers can request increases up to their maximum eligible loan amount for up to two years after their loan origination date, or until the funds are exhausted, whichever is soonest.
-
SBA will accept and review reconsideration and appeal requests for COVID EIDL applications only if received within the timeframes in the regulation—6 months from date of decline for reconsiderations and 30 days from date of reconsideration
decline for appeals – unless funding is no longer available.
