California State Trade Expansion Program (STEP)

Individual Company Export Promotion Program (ICEP)

ICEP is designed to provide direct financial assistance to STEP eligible California small businesses in the form of reimbursements for activities not currently being supported by California STEP. For more details,click here.

Basic Qualifications to Participate in STEP:

  1. Satisfies the SBA Small Business eligibility standards
  2. Organized as a for-profit enterprise
  3.  A business organized, registered and operating in the United States
  4. Registered to do business in California and in good business standing
  5. Is exporting goods or services of U.S. Origin or that have at least 51% U.S. content.
  6. Must be in business for at least one year at the time of the STEP funded export activity takes place
  7. Has access to sufficient resources to bear the costs associated with trade, including the costs of packing, shipping, freight forwarding, and customs brokers.
  8. Agree to provide information on export sales data resulting from the STEP supported activities and respond to all subsequent STEP surveys on a timely basis.

Nominations are now being accepted for the 2022 National Small Business
Week (NSBW) Awards. The NSBW Awards recognize the achievements of SBA-assisted small businesses and the contributions they have made to their communities and our nation’s economy

All nominations should be submitted electronically by 12 PM PST on January 11, 2022. The awards will be presented during the NSBW Awards ceremony the first week of May 2022.

Please submit your completed nomination package for the 2022 National Small Business Week Awards here. The portal is specifically for companies who are located in the state of California’s Sacramento District Office area.
