The Small Business Administration is
hosting a free small business event for Veterans from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

annually, the SBA is focused on ensuring they have access to the capital,
business counseling, and contracting assistance needed to start and grow
Each year, along with the Veteran Business
Outreach Center and Center for Women & Enterprise, the SBA highlights
Veteran entrepreneurship during National Veterans Small Business Week.
Registration and networking is at 8:30 a.m.
The first workshop, Is Entrepreneurship
Right For You?, begins at 9 a.m. and covers the common traits and
characteristics of entrepreneurs as well as identifying the risks and rewards
Congressman Peter Welch addresses the
audience at 10 a.m. to explain about the various federal benefits,
resources and services available to Veterans and their family members.
Financing a Veteran-Owned Business workshop
is at 10:30 a.m. It features a panel of lenders to discuss the various loan
programs and opportunities available to assist Veteran small business owners.
Doing Business With the Government workshop
is at 11:30 a.m. and includes a presentation and Q&A with government
procurement specialists to discuss contracting opportunities for veteran-owned
and service disabled veteran-owned small businesses.
Lunch is provided at 12:30 p.m. followed by
one-on-one small business counseling.
