2018 NAGGL Annual Conference in San Diego, CA

The lenders in attendance help entrepreneurs access loans guaranteed by SBA. The SBA is now processing all loans electronically, so borrowers can efficiently and effectively get funding to start, grow, or expand their small businesses!

SBA San Diego District Director Ruben Garcia provided opening remarks during the ceremony and also presented LCDR Henry A. Martinez II with a certificate of appreciation for his efforts in coordinating the 13th Annual Honor Our Veterans Parade & Ceremony.

A large procurement and international trade event coordinated by the County of Riverside's Economic Development Agency, Office of Foreign Trade, and Purchasing and Fleet Services. Participating organizations included: SBA's OCIE District Office, the SBDC California - Orange County Inland Empire Network, the U.S. Dept. of Commerce - International Trade Administration, and the California Centers for International Trade Development. Many other organizations participated in this event including local, state, and federal procuring agencies for the procurement matchmaking sessions, which were conducted by appointment throughout the day.

SBA San Diego Economic Development Specialist Jamye Pritchett Solorzano spent a day in the rural town of Brawley, California, working an SBA exhibit at the 62nd Annual 2018 Cattle Call (Rodeo.) Jamye had a great time meeting local members of the community, small business owners, and potential business owners. She gives a special thanks to the staff of the Brawley Chamber of Commerce, for their collaboration and devotion to local business.

2018 Cardiff Small Business Saturday

Small Business Saturday is more than a day to shop, it’s a day to celebrate and support the businesses that make our community great with friends and family. The day provides discounts, shop specials, surprise giveaways, basket draw tickets, live music, beer garden and local artisan pop-up shops in Cardiff-by-the-Sea, Leucadia and Downtown Encinitas.

SBA San Diego's Economic Development Specialist Jamye Pritchett Solorzano participated in this event and brought her family along to shop small on Small Business Saturday.


Two San Diego SCORE Volunteers Recognized for Their Leadership

Greg is a long tenured SCORE mentor and counselor who also dedicates time serving the veteran small business community. Carl also presented a coin to San Diego SCORE's Outgoing Chapter President Sally Broff, for her outstanding, and innovative service while serving as San Diego SCORE president. Sally is also a long time SCORE counselor and mentor and is remaining active in the chapter after turning over her leadership position. She has contributed greatly to enhancing the level of collaboration between all of the SBA San Diego District Office resource partner organizations. 

SBA thanks both of you for your dedication to SCORE and the small business community.
