Tuesday, February 1, 2022
9 – 10 a.m. Central / 8 – 9 a.m. Mountain
Join us to learn about all of the changes to the System for Award Management (SAM) database. There are many new elements, some of the same old questions, and some new problems. We’ll discuss the changes and conduct a live demonstration to answer some of your
questions.
The system as you probably know it is where entities register to do business with the federal government, find exclusion records, search entity registrations, and perform other tasks. That functionality has moved into the new system along with all the functionality
from beta.SAM.gov—contract opportunities, assistance listings, wage determinations, and the federal hierarchy.
The 2022 monthly tri-state procurement webinar series is hosted in partnership with the Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota Small Business Administration (SBA) and the Procurement Technical Assistance Centers (PTAC).
SBA Co-sponsorship #22-4-C. SBA’s participation is not an endorsement of the views, opinions, products or services of any cosponsor or other person or entity. All SBA programs and services are extended to the public on a nondiscriminatory basis.
Veteran-owned small businesses interested in government contracting need to be aware of upcoming changes:
Beginning January 1, 2023, as required by the National Defense Authorization Act of 2021, any small business wanting to compete in the federal market as a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) or Veteran-Owned Small Business
(VOSB) will need to be certified by the Small Business Administration (SBA). SDVOSBs and VOSBs will no longer be able to self-certify. Also, certification for the Veterans First Contracting Program will be transferred from the Veterans Administration (VA)
to the SBA.
It is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED you apply for certification through the VA prior to this transfer to the SBA. Visit
https://www.va.gov/OSDBU/docs/preparing-for-verification.pdf to begin your certification application with the VA. If you need assistance, the Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) is available. To find a PTAC in your state go to:
