The Montana Women’s Business Center is pleased to announce $18,000 of the funds raised at the 2021 Prosperity Party fundraiser will go directly to helping Montana’s women business owners. Grant funding can be used for anything that will enhance economic independence
for women, job creation, or take the business to the next level of success.
During the pitch contest, you will be able to watch the 12 finalists of this year’s grant cycle pitch their business and what they plan to use the grant funds for. Donations to attend this event will help us to continue this grant opportunity for Montana Women

Join us for an in-depth, one day training course, the Website Boot Camp – Website in a Day. This one day course will teach participants how to create, build and maintain a business website from start to finish, including the creating of an online store. We
will also cover how to create a website that includes a hotel booking feature, perfect for tourism and hospitality related businesses. Small Business Development Center (SBDC) business advisor Rich Gannon will teach users how to create websites using the Wix
design platform. Wix is a powerful, all-inclusive website design tool that is easy to use and requires no coding skills.
The course will be taught, in person, at the Blackfeet Community, Beaver Painted Lodge 138. Class starts at 9AM and wraps up at 3:30 PM. Free lunch provided.
Upon successful completion of the course, participants will be eligible to receive one free year of Wix website hosting, a $275 value for free. The Wix hosting license will be available to boot camp participants who become active clients of the Great Falls
area SBDC with additional one-on-one assistance available. Eligible users must also be eligible for services provided by U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) Resource Partner program which include startups and in-business for-profit entities.

Great Northern Development Corporation, Small Business Development Center is hosting a business plan competition in conjunction with the MDT Small Business Enterprise Program throughout a seven-county region in Northeastern Montana consisting of Valley, Garfield,
McCone, Richland, Roosevelt, Sheridan, and Daniels. The goal of this event is to attract new entrepreneurs and support existing businesses in Northeastern Montana by uniting communities in a common goal of economic development. GNDC and the MT SBE Program
will award two prize packages of $5,000; one to a startup business and one to an existing business.
SBDC Director, Shandy Moran, will be holding business plan development classes in each of the participating seven counties in January. Entrepreneurs planning to compete in the Minnow Tank Business Plan competition are encouraged to attend a class. These class
topics include business plan basics, marketing, and small business financials. Watch the GNDC website or our monthly newsletter for the class schedule release. If you are unable to attend a class please call GNDC to schedule an appointment with Shandy Moran
at (406) 653-2590 ext 203. Minnow Tank business plan submissions are due to GNDC by 5:00 PM on March 1st. Submissions can be mailed to GNDC at 233 Cascade Street or sent via e-mail to sbdc@gndc.org.

People management is some of the most demanding work we will tackle in our careers. During the course, we will breakdown several management principles from the book Coaching Illustrated, apply them to your real-world management scenarios and delve into the
advantages and methods required to become an effective coach, mentor and leader to your team. This is a great course for anyone new to management as well as any manager or director who struggles with building rapport with a team and simultaneously generating

This workshop will be April 19th from 8:30am-12:30pm and will discuss the basics of QuickBooks and accounting terminology and is geared towards newer users
Each day from 1pm-4:00pm Wendy will be holding thirty-minute, one-on-one sessions with attendees to allow for questions on unique issues specific to the user. Wendy will schedule these meetings at the beginning of class.
A representative from the Department of Transportation’s Disadvantaged Business Enterprise Program will also be available in the afternoon of both days to discuss business certifications.
This workshop will take place at 65 East Broadway Street, Butte MT in the Thornton Building 2nd Floor Conference Room. Advanced Registration is required as spaces are limited. Class is $35 each day and lunch will be provided.
