SBA Now Accepting NSBW Nominations: Deadline to submit is January 11, 2022 at 12 PM PST.

Are you a small business owner with an amazing story to tell?

Or, do you know a small business that deserves recognition? If so, submit your nomination today for the 2022 National Small Business Week Awards.

SBA is now accepting nominations for National Small Business Week 2022 for the following categories. All small business awards are open to the public and self nomination is permitted.

  • Small Business Person of the Year
  • Small Business Exporter of the Year
  • Phoenix Award for Small Business Disaster Recovery
  • Phoenix Award for Outstanding Contributions to Disaster Recovery:Public Official
  • Phoenix Award for Outstanding Contributions to Disaster Recovery:Volunteer
  • Federal Procurement Award – Small Business Prime Contractor of the Year
  • Federal Procurement Award – Small Business Subcontractor of the Year
  • Federal Procurement Award – Dwight D. Eisenhower Award for Excellence
  • 8(a) Graduate of the Year

As well as SBA resource and community partners:

  • Small Business Development Center Excellence and Innovation
  • Veterans Business Outreach Center Excellence in Service
  • Women’s Business Center of Excellence A
  • Jody C. Raskind Lender of the Year
  • Small Business Investment Company of the Year

ALL nominations must be submitted using the SBA NSBW portal (link below). 

Instructions and supporting documentation is provided in the portal.

Unfortunately, SBA is unable to accept mail-in, fax or drop off nominations and no submission extension will be permitted.

The SBA Sacramento District Office invites you to nominate a local small business and/or individual or organization to be considered for recognition for one of the following awards:

  • Contractor of the Year
  • Entrepreneur of the Year
  • Family-owned Small Business of the Year
  • Minority Small Business Champion of the Year
  • Non-profit of the Year
  • National and District Small Business Person of the Year
  • Start-up of the Year
  • Veteran-owned Small Business of the Year
  • WOSB of the Year

How to Nominate

Step 1: Review the nomination criteria Start by reviewing the Sacramento District Office 2022 Supplemental Award Nominations Guide and the National Small Business Week 2022 Award Nominations Guidelines for award categories, nomination criteria and detailed submission instructions.

Step 2: Gather and complete the required forms All forms can be downloaded from the National Small Business Week website. Refer to the nomination guidelines to determine which forms to submit.

Step3: Submit your completed nomination electronically Submissions must be uploaded to the Sacramento District Office BOX account.

Step 4: Watch your email for communication regarding your nomination

Deadline and Submission Guidelines

The deadline for submitting a full nomination package is: 12 PM PT, Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2022. All nomination packages must be submitted electronically to the Sacramento District Office BOX account.
