PRESERVE WISCONSIN STATE MONUMENT
Historic Preservation Treatment of Stone and Bronze
This historic structure is constructed of granite and stands 122 feet high. On top of a raised pedestal is a 57.5 foot Doric column and a bronze statue of "Old Abe" the war eagle, mascot of the 8th Wisconsin Infantry. On each side of the column (bordered on three sides with a low wall) are a statue of an infantryman and a cavalryman with his horse.
