DAFI 36-2646 establishes the requirement for Security Forces units to employ a virtual weapons simulator as a baseline training capability. This system provides a critical, standardized method for developing and sustaining weapons proficiency across the force.

A virtual weapons simulator enables realistic, interactive weapons training designed to enhance marksmanship fundamentals, decision-making, and tactical weapons employment.
