Self-Sustaining Temporary Detention Facility

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) awarded Akima Infrastructure Protection (AIP), LLC a contract for a self-sustaining temporary detention facility, medical annex, and detention support services in Los Fresnos, TX. In accordance with Section 8(a) of the Small Business Act (15 U.S.C. § 637(a)) and the executed Partnership Agreement between the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) and DHS, this contract was awarded to 8(a) small business AIP per Revolutionary Federal Acquisition Regulation Overhaul (RFO) 19.108-7(b) and 19.208-2(a), whereby award was made using other than full and open competition.
