1.0 Background The Bonneville Lock and Dam is a federally operated hydroelectric facility located on the Columbia River, constructed in the 1930s. The facility plays a critical role in providing renewable energy, supporting regional navigation, and contributing to flood risk management throughout the Pacific Northwest.
