Synopsis

This USDA-Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service construction project includes a building addition that will house an Animal and Zoonotic Disease Center laboratory.  This biosafety level-3 lab addition on the campus of USDA’s National Centers for Animal Health in Ames, Iowa, would comprise approximately 13,500 square feet.  The project includes 2,200 sf of office space, and converting another building, which houses the current Mycobacteriology lab, into a storage facility.

The NAICS code for this project is 236220, with a small business size standard of $45 million. Construction will be procured on an unrestricted basis.  The estimated magnitude of the project is more than $10 million.
