The single frequency “Cobolt Disco” laser head generating 500mW at 780nm wavelength and featuring linewidth under 50kHz (measured with 1ms integration time) will be used as a probe beam for ultrasensitive Brillouin light scattering spectrometer. The setup will be used for studying high frequency elastic excitations in nanostructures through detecting inelastic light scattering generated by the sound waves.
