In his opening remarks, Kuhio Lewis, Chief Executive Officer of CNHA,\n spoke about the theme of this year\u2019s event &nbsp;&#8211; hulihia &#8211; as \u2018an overturning that serves as a catalyst for deep, transformative change&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\" style=\"line-height:1.4;font-family:sans-serif;color:#000000;font-size:15px;text-align:left;margin:0 0 10px\">\nThe Convention kicked off on the 19<sup>th<\/sup> with a series of Community Workshops.&nbsp; Topics included:&nbsp; cultural lifestyle practices, training\/resources for non-profits, community-driven renewable energy models, digital marketing techniques, Hawaiian genealogy,\n film production and the M\u0101h\u016b culture in Hawai\u02bbi.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\" style=\"line-height:1.4;font-family:sans-serif;color:#000000;font-size:15px;text-align:left;margin:0 0 10px\">\nThe day concluded with CNHA\u2019s K\u016bHana Business Program participants on their feet to deliver their sales pitches to a group of judges.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\" style=\"line-height:1.4;font-family:sans-serif;color:#000000;font-size:15px;text-align:left;margin:0 0 10px\">\nThe morning session on Wednesday included welcoming remarks from former Governor John Waihe\u2019e III and current Governor David Ige.&nbsp; A panel with Pu\u02bbuhonua leaders, exploring new paradigms of how Hawai\u02bbi can address our affordable housing crisis and houselessness,\n resonated with Convention attendees.&nbsp; Snippets of conversation, inspired by the panel, were heard in hallways and workshop venues through the end of the event.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\" style=\"line-height:1.4;font-family:sans-serif;color:#000000;font-size:15px;text-align:left;margin:0 0 10px\">\nThe afternoon workshops included topics such as food sovereignty, tourism, access to capital, the housing crisis and Native engagement.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\" style=\"line-height:1.4;font-family:sans-serif;color:#000000;font-size:15px;text-align:left;margin:0 0 10px\">\nParticipants quickly changed into their evening wear to attend the 45<sup>th<\/sup> Annual N\u0101 H\u014dk\u016b Hanohano Awards in the Sheraton\u2019s Ballroom. &nbsp;And the stars were out!<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\" style=\"line-height:1.4;font-family:sans-serif;color:#000000;font-size:15px;text-align:left;margin:0 0 10px\">\nThursday morning started with a lively panel of Mayors from Hawai\u02bbi Island, Kauai, Maui and Oahu, discussing their future visions of regenerative tourism.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\" style=\"line-height:1.4;font-family:sans-serif;color:#000000;font-size:15px;text-align:left;margin:0 0 10px\">\nThe next panel included key players of Kap\u016bkak\u012b (Red Hill), discussing the ongoing water crisis and its implications for Honolulu\u2019s future.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\" style=\"line-height:1.4;font-family:sans-serif;color:#000000;font-size:15px;text-align:left;margin:0 0 10px\">\nThe afternoon workshops topics included:&nbsp; \u014c\u02bblelo Hawai\u02bbi, kupuna, the visitor industry, post-COVID-19 economic recovery and the life of Eddie \u02bbAikau.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\" style=\"line-height:1.4;font-family:sans-serif;color:#000000;font-size:15px;text-align:left;margin:0 0 10px\">\nThursday\u2019s events concluded with Super Debate 2022 &#8211;
