\nThe U.S. Small Business Administration\u2019s Eastern Pennsylvania District Office announces Jordan Galasso, Owner, Fit AF Nutrition, located in Carbondale, is the recipient of its Eastern Pennsylvania Small Business Person of the Year Award for 2022. Media\n are invited to attend.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nFit AF Nutrition is a fully prepared meal delivery service focusing on high quality nutrition to help people lose weight, perform better, feel better and have more energy. They currently serve northeastern Pennsylvania. Jordan loves health and fitness, and\n when he was working as a personal trainer, he did meal prep for himself every week. A client asked him to start prepping his meals, and it turned out to be just the thing needed to help him lose weight. Eventually more people requested Jordan\u2019s meal prep,\n and thus a business was born in 2017.<\/p>\n

\nThe business was started with Jordan\u2019s savings and two employees. Today he has 20 employees located in the Kitchen Incubator at Carbondale Technology Transfer Center. Customers have the option of selecting their meals for the week or working with a certified\n nutrition expert to assist in making the right choices for the week. Every Sunday Fit AF Nutrition delivers thousands of ready to go meals directly to their customer homes.<\/p>\n

\nHe has expanded into the Lehigh Valley and over the next year expects to expand into the Philadelphia area and New Jersey and open a kitchen in that region to ensure the freshest food for their customers.<\/p>\n

\n\u201cIt\u2019s a privilege to recognize the achievements of leading small business owners such as Jordan Galasso,\u201d said Steve Dixel, SBA Eastern Pennsylvania Director. \u201cJordan saw a business opportunity and grew it into a successful business. SBA and our resource partner,\n the University of Scranton Small Business Development Center (SBDC), are proud to play a role in helping Jordan and Fit AF Nutrition positively impact the northeast Pennsylvania economy.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\u201cThroughout his time working with our center, Jordan was eager to consistently improve his business. He was willing to put in the time and effort to expand his business in the right ways,\u201d said nominator Leigh Fennie, Business Consultant, the University of\n Scranton Small Business Development Center. \u201cHe has truly built this business from the ground up and is always looking for ways to grow.\u201d<\/p>\n

\nJordan worked with the SBDC to develop a social media strategy, conduct industry research that helped his business grow in revenue, and host a marketing intern through the SBDC\u2019s Small Business Internship Initiative. He also worked with consultants on food\n safety, permits, and licensing requirements. Business grew during the pandemic as Fit AF Nutrition is set up for online ordering and provides no-contact delivery.<\/p>\n

\n\u201cWe have used the services provided by Scranton SBDC in many capacities and I plan to continue to use their services as I grow the business even further,\u201d said Jordan Galasso, Owner, Fit AF Nutrition. \u201cIt\u2019s an honor to be named SBA\u2019s Eastern Pennsylvania Small\n Business Person of the Year.\u201d<\/p>\n

\nFit AF Nutrition also donates leftover cooked and uncooked foods to various food pantries including Friends of the Poor in Scranton, and Catholic Social Services in Carbondale.<\/p>\n

\nThe University of Scranton Small Business Development Center is a member of the Pennsylvania Small Business Development Centers\u2019 statewide network and provides educational programs and no cost, confidential consulting services to entrepreneurs looking to start\n a small business or grow an existing small business in northeastern Pennsylvania. The University of Scranton has hosted the SBDC since 1980, providing outstanding resources, support, and funding. The SBDC is housed in the University\u2019s nationally recognized\n Kania School of Management.<\/p>\n

\nSBA\u2019s Eastern Pennsylvania Small Business Person of the Year award winner is selected annually from among nominees located across the 40 counties of eastern Pennsylvania.<\/p>\n
