\nSBA Celebrates Women’s History Month<\/h2>\n

\nJoin the U.S. Small Business Administration on March 31, 2022 for an online event celebrating Women\u2019s History Month. You will hear from industry experts including Natalie Madeira Cofield, SBA Assistant Administrator for the Office of Women\u2019s Business Ownership;\n Candace Waterman, President and CEO of Women Impacting Public Policy (WIPP); Alisa Sheard, SBA Acting Deputy Director for the Office of Government Contracting; and Michelle Sherod, President and CEO of Accounting Legal & Logistics Solutions, Inc.<\/p>\n

\nAdditional NAICS Codes for the Women-Owned
\nSmall Business Federal Contracting program<\/h2>\n

\nTo help provide a level playing field for women business owners, the federal government limits competition for certain contracts to businesses that participate in the Women-Owned\n Small Business Federal Contracting Program (WOSB Program)<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\nThese contracts are for specific industries where women-owned small businesses are substantially underrepresented. Some contracts are restricted further to economically disadvantaged women-owned small businesses (EDWOSBs). SBA maintains a list of those eligible\n industries and their North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) codes. The SBA has just increased the number of eligible industries by 70%, driving more opportunities to those businesses.<\/p>\n

\nOf the 759 eligible industries, 646 are designated for limited competition among all WOSB Program participants, and 113 are eligible for competition among only SBA-certified EDWOSBs.<\/p>\n

\nFederal System SAM.gov will no longer use
\nDUNS numbers<\/h2>\n

\nStarting April 4, the federal government’s contracting System for Award Management (SAM.gov) and other Integrated Award Environment systems will stop using Dun & Bradstreet (DUNS) numbers and begin using a Unique Entity ID (UEI).  The UEI is a 12-character\n alphanumeric <\/strong>value managed, granted, and owned by the government. After April 4, 2022, entities will go to SAM.gov to obtain their UEI.  Key dates for this transition are:<\/p>\n
