\nJoin us to learn about all of the changes to the System for Award Management (SAM) database. There are many new elements, some of the same old questions, and some new problems. We’ll discuss the changes and conduct a live demonstration to answer some of your\n questions.<\/p>\n

\nThe system as you probably know it is where entities register to do business with the federal government, find exclusion records, search entity registrations, and perform other tasks. That functionality has moved into the new system along with all the functionality\n from beta.SAM.gov<\/a>\u2014contract opportunities, assistance listings, wage determinations, and the federal hierarchy.<\/p>\n

\nVeteran-owned small businesses interested in government contracting need to be aware of upcoming changes:<\/h1>\n

\nBeginning January 1, 2023<\/strong>, as required by the National Defense Authorization Act of 2021, any small business wanting to compete in the federal market as a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) or Veteran-Owned Small Business\n (VOSB) will need to be certified by the Small Business Administration (SBA). SDVOSBs and VOSBs will no longer be able to self-certify. Also, certification for the Veterans First Contracting Program will be transferred from the Veterans Administration (VA)\n to the SBA.<\/p>\n

\nIt is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED<\/strong> you apply for certification through the VA prior to this transfer to the SBA.
