The Bureau of Reclamation (BOR) is an agency of the U.S. Department of the Interior and operates in the 17 western states. Reclamation’s mission is to assist in meeting the increasing water demands of the West while protecting the environment and the public's investment in these structures. To help accomplish this, Reclamation purchases a wide range of products and services. Reclamation is dedicated to providing continuous outreach and assistance to small business, small disadvantaged, Historically Underutilized Business Zone (HUBZone), women-owned, and service-disabled veteran-owned small businesses in support of Federal socio-economic development programs.

USAspending.gov is the official source for spending data for the U.S. Government. Its mission is to show the American public what the federal government spends every year and how it spends the money. You can follow the money from the Congressional appropriations to the federal agencies and down to local communities and businesses.

In this workshop we will discuss:

  • USAspending and its big-picture view of the federal spending landscape.
  • The Spending Explorer lets you explore the entire federal budget in increasing granularity, illustrating how awards derive from federal accounts.
  • gov provides a targeted approach to finding federal award data.

About: In this webinar we will discuss current state of business, and how small business owners have had to reinvent their business models. We will offer suggestions and avenues to assist participants with pivoting their service or product delivery methods. In addition, we will visit how collaborations can provide unique success avenues. The instructor will provide an insight as to why you should do business with the various Federal Government entities. The U.S. Federal Government is the largest single purchaser of goods and services in the world, awarding approximately $500 billion in contracts every year. They purchase everything from furniture to office equipment and hardware supplies. They procure janitorial, medical services, to grounds keeping services. They require construction/renovation of buildings, parking lots to shoring up dams/levees.

In this workshop we will discuss:

  • The various categories of Small Business set-aside programs
  • What you need to know prior to selling to the Federal Government
